Noob needs tire help... :D
Noob needs tire help... :D
Hey guys! New to the forum (still have my tags on), looking for info on back pair of shoes for my 04. Currently have Pirelli 245-35-19, I need to have purchased and installed by: afternoon of this Thurs the 22nd (crucial!).
Backstory: Boyfriend supposed to send purchase link, weeks ago, never did, so I'm taking matters (and my LIFE) back into my own hands since he says they may not even last a 2hr road trip Thurs evening.... I know I can alter the size to, lets say 235-40-19, but not knowing ____ bout tires, thought I'd ask you gents what the most comparable tire specs are. Found 7 quotes online from $69-292 each, and called 6 shops that don't have those, but have comparable tires, some don't even mount 35's bc too low pro.
TBH, I am sooooo DONE with the shops "Oooohing and Ahhhhing" at the skinnies and tbh I'm not interested in showing her off, tweaking to max performance, etc. like you guys are. I hear their reactions, smell drool (?!), and just feel like I'm about to go for a wallet ride. I'm just a "young woman" on a photographer budget trying to make sure the comparable tires are SAFE, have shop warranty, and IF they ride better than my current ones (from NOT being low pro), eeeeeven better... Have about 15 new gray hairs from calling shops for quotes and searching for new online, but deadline and budget are tight so I NEED and am greatly appreciative for any assistance you could give. Best price I've found is $69.71 each w/o installation (which would be about $25 e/ closest to me), but I wouldn't have them shipped here/on the car by deadline.
Angels, if you're out there, plz do your thang . Any links, contacts you could advise would be srsly amazing.

Re: Noob needs tire help... :D
Hi Kristy,
Welcome to forum and good for you, sstock rear isrea5/35r19, can go as wide as 275/35 on rear.
but alot more to tires, where you live and road conditions make a huge difference.
where do you live, what kind of roads you drive, laundry, wet, colder temps, snow, hard rain etc etc etc
ask due to 1 reason like, summer only tires driving in temps under 40° the compound hardens up and can feel like driving on ice when there is not any.
some tires are better than others in rain.
if you live on a desert most will work.
and there is tread rating, helps with the life of the tire.
