Default Crossfire Roof Rack

For sale is a custom made roof rack that I originally put together to carry my kayak. All parts are from Thule and would run between $250-$350 to duplicate. This is a quality rack setup and not some cheap, off the shelf universal fit setup that could possibly damage your roof.

Used, but not abused. Carried a 10' kayak with no problems. Even carried a 65 pound electric beach cruiser at 80 mph, with no issues (had to take 1 pedal off, though).

Tightens down/hooks on to the roof rail rubber and the roof itself. Leaves no marks, as long as you clean the surface of the roof before using.

Comes with both front and rear bars, 4 mounts and 4 foot attachments and 2 adjustment handles. Does NOT come with the ratchet strap tie downs.

In the pictures, the kayak is shown with straps holding it to the bars only. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS. Strapping it to the rear tow hook and the radiator core support, or front tow hook is recommended. I had long socks over the ratchet straps to keep them from marring the paint.

$200 plus shipping. If interested, PM me your address so I can figure the shipping costs.

Looks nice, do the bars lay flat in the back when not in use? I am hoping to take a long road trip and those might come in handy as an emergency storage device.

I couldn't say for sure if they would lay flat on the floor and I no longer have my Crossfire to check . I can tell you that if you flip them upside down, the measurement across the bar, from end to end is about 44 1/2".

If you kept the mounts downward, the measurement is about 45 1/2" from outside of mount, to outside of mount.

I don't see why not. Handled a 65 pound bike with no problems.

BTW, nice TVR. I've got an 86 I'm restoring/modding.

A roof rack for a Crossfire sports car? Seems sacrilegious to me.

Hi Franc, It is in the roof rack post as an ironic statement veiled as a safety message?. The truck is on the roof, it is a roof rack. I didn't make the association or the joke, just interpreted it.

I just keyed for HUMOR AND JOKES and the site took me here, AGAIN.

Perhaps the program considers a roof rack on a Crossfire to be a joke?

I wanted to watch the world Origami Championship on TV today.

However it was only on paper view.
