I am going to put on one of the spares that came with your set soon;
I am debating whether to get some clear sticker and exacto knife it,
or even spray it with a clear coat.
I just cant figure out a way to protect the damn thing!
Thoughts appreciated!
Thanks again and merry crossfire

P.S. BUMP!
Clear fingernail polish drying as I type.. going to get a second coat and see how well it last. Anybody else tried this road yet?

I haven't tried this yet! But I will give it a whirl. I was thinking a clear bra would work pretty well.

Wife decided a third coat just for grins.. two days of in and out of the vest side pocket bouncing around with lighter and thumb drive and still looks as good as Sunday. After about two months of this on the first one it was just an orange sticker.. lol. I like that it also "seals" the edges.. not that it was an issue to begin with.

I just tried this on both my keys... seems to be alright so far.
I did mine myself as I don't have a wife to do this for me

PROBLEMS:
On my spare key, I did not do a full cover with the first coat. When I applied the second coat, the flaws in the first coat really stood out.

Also, when I applied the first layer to the spare key, I applied it in a swirling motion to avoid brush markings, but it began to make the decal of the ghosted crossfire come off of the sticker. Idk if the clear polish has harsh chemicals, but if I had kept swirling, I would have taken all of the crossfire decal off.

Next problem, on my main key, I applied only one layer to avoid this weird lighting issue.
The problem I ran into is that I applied the coat too thick, so there are quite a few micro bubbles throughout the coat.

ADVICE: Do thin layers, and make sure it is evenly spread!

They look good!, Ill try some other ideas, but this one seems to work.

Greg, every problem you are experiencing is easily corrected by masking and spraying some clear coat on the decal. If you tape the key, and use a SHARP knife to cut around the raised section, then just spray several coats of clear on the decal, allowing each to set before starting on the next, and you will be set for several months, depending on how much the key is in and out of your pocket. Mine is currently a daily and the coating lasts at least 2 months like this, then I redo it.

I tried the nailpolish a few times over a year ago and experienced many of the problems you have, but it was still better than wearing the decal off after a few days, but give the clear a shot and see what you think

What is the current price for this kit? Waht about shipping to Oklahoma City, OK? Also, any new designs? I saw some on E-bay but wasn't sure if this was you or not. I want to keep my money in the club. Do you have any with black background and red lettering? I have a 2005 coupe and very interested, thx//// Chuck
