Ok, small delay. I seem to have blown a fuse on the convertible top. Anyone have a list of fuses to look for? Silly me for using it so often to test the new frame...

Fuse #5 and fuse #6 in the under hood fuse panel.
( do I get a free frame for that ? )

I will see about fixing the top tomorrow. Thanks for the fuse info. The fuses were not blown, so I bet I have a sensor screwed up in the trunk.

Either the trunk divider switch, or the top opened switch ( above passenger's right ear ).

[QUOTE=Mrmiata;852498]I'm going to guess the time estimate is based on a firmly attached window. I spent 3 hours (leisure) scraping and cleaning and 3M window weld prime and sealant on a facebook members car.. and that was after having done mine. Both are still doing fine. 6 months ago on mine and about 2 months on the other. $50 in materials on mine.. and plenty left over to make the other a "freebie"..

This is what I plan to do, but please what did you clean the old stuff off with?
Poor Crossfire has been sitting in the garage waiting for this repair. I'm a little nervous about getting the edges that have pulled away back into place. The window is still attached along the middle of the top and the middle of the bottom.

I need to just go for it...

I acquired the car with the glass hanging.. and much like you put it off "dreading" it.. LOL. Mine was a mess from others attempts at repair - regular RTV etc. Just using the flat bladed exacto and scraping everything is what I did. I'm starting to think getting a new primer to the glass is a big part of the "success" with this. And don't worry about excess too much.. it will scrape off later when everything is all set up.. Click "Top Repair" in my signature..

Just watched the video.... great info! Just to clarify, though: you did NOT remove the window fully from the top, correct? You just scraped out the old crud and got the adhesive into the edges of the failure as best you could while running a proper bead (after primer) to the areas where the glass was fully separated? Is that correct?

Exactly! After getting the sides and bottom done.. the top edge that was holding let go.. so had to come back and fix it. The one I fixed as a favor hasn't had the "come fix top edge" issue.. I'm sure mine saw a lot of stress on that edge before I purchased it.

Now for the question of the day.
Why is Top Repair at the bottom?

Would appreciate specifics on the adhesive and primer you are using. The terrific video you have posted posted pans across the repair equipment pretty fast and I couldn't get a read on the 3M adhesive or the primer. Thanks in advance!!!

LOL.. "That" is why they put a pause button on there! And 180 .. it's at the bottom as that was the last "major" I've done.. LOL.

This link has the primer on the page also.. "Frequently Bought Together" ..
