Need rear infinity oem sub
Need rear infinity oem sub
Hello, if anyone has access to a factory rear sub for the infinity system, I would really, really appreciate it. A garage that was changing my oil blew it playing around with my stereo while I was gone. They deny doing it and now my music sounds awful I checked with Chrysler and I cant afford it. So if its reasonably priced I would be eternily greatful thank you
Re: Need rear infinity oem sub
There are some other options, as well. Check the forum for a thread or 10 on subwoofers. It could probably be replaced for $25, unless you're **** about having 'stock' or 'original' equipment... Just thought I would throw that out there!
Re: Need rear infinity oem sub
Thank you but I have looked. It seems the housing for the sub is pretty small and its hard to find one that will fit. So I am looking for ab exact known replacement model number or a used one
Re: Need rear infinity oem sub
I disagree, and there are some who will either corroborate or not on this: I would be most surprised if the '04 does not have the 6.5" subs in a plastic enclosure as all Crossfire roadster, anyway, are...and there is no '04 (if I remember correctly) roadster. I can't speak for the coupe because I don't own one. You don't say if you have a coupe...
Here is the link to the thread with the suitable alternatives, some do require modification; most don't:

Re: Need rear infinity oem sub
I can get you a sound sample...I didn't take any photos, though. Can't answer the question about how, with the possible exception that the flexibility provided by the rubber cement is compatible with the foam, maybe? I'll post that sample tomorrow...
Re: Need rear infinity oem sub
I would recomend repair, wither DIY or a professional. The factory subs are very unique. They have diual voice coils but are not traditional. The OEM amp has a positive wire, a ground, and then two toher wires that carry the frequency. I have tried different wiring cmbinations on the ones I installed with single voice coils and very dissatisfied. The OEM woffers with the 4 channel amp wiring DIY to sepearte the channels out and wire the rear OEM subs through the OEM amp to the rear sub output RCA's on a head unti is the best, quickest, and most affordable DIY mod that sounds great. After I did this mod my son blew one of the woofers.
My opinions of course, but I hope this helps a little.

+1 ^^^^^
Reviews of the speaker installs state underpowered. I'm guessing if you have an aftermarket HU with high power output it would be time to bypass the amp for the subs and go direct to HU to make any replacements worthwhile.

Hmmm, I thought the dual coils were just to handle the higher wattage in a smaller package and that they were just parallel coils each doing the same job at the same time...
Re: Need rear infinity oem sub
That's what I would have surmised...
