For only being 28 years old, I've had a BUNCH of cars. I tend to buy and sell them more often than a financially responsible adult should. But who cares? I love cars, so I spend money on them. Due to my age, there has been a natural progression to better rides over the years. My starting point was pretty humble, and the Crossfire represents the pinnacle so far in terms of how good my cars were.

Here are a list of my previous rides, with a note about each.
1) 1980 Datsun B210 Wagon. Got it from my Grandparents, and managed to total it after only three months of driving. The only automatic transmission car I ever owned. Due to the snail like acceleration, the only one I ever want to own.
2) 1979 VW Rabbit Diesel -The worst car I ever owned. Diesel engine was great for mileage. Trans slipped out of reverse, front strut seized, myriad electrical problems. Brake failures. I would go on, but this one deserves its own post some day. Looked good, though. No rust, clean, and shiny paint. Dressed up with Scirocco alloy wheels and other trim.
3) 1988 Mustang LX - With Centerline wheels on it, it looked like a million. Drove like a Fairmont with a lot less room. Then again, a 1988 Mustang is a Fairmont with a lot less room!
4) 1991 Ranger 4x4 - 2.9L V6 and 5-speed manual. Great truck. Everything was bright red (including the carpets, seats, and dash inside). Buying one of these in college is a bad idea, because you (and everyone else) moves every year. You'll make friends that you never thought you had, who will want to hang out with you exactly once per year - on moving day. Then again, it is a great choice for those road trips to the coast.
5) 2001 Dodge Neon - My first new car. Lots of great memories. Decked out with full cat back exhaust, intake, 17" rims, performance tires, etc. Quick and fun with a five speed and some modest bolt-ons. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an inexpensive, fun car.
6) 2003 Mazda Protege5 - Leather interior, 6-disc changer, power everything, etc meant this was the first car I owned that was not a "bottom feeder". Extensively modified with header, exhaust, intake, lightened pulley, lowering springs, catless downpipe, 17" black wheels with performance tires, and lots of Mazdaspeed trim pieces (some of which I purchased during a visit to Japan). A killer car. Cost a lot of money to put together, and one day I asked myself "if you want to own a fast car, why not just start with a fast car?". Sold it briefly afterwards. I am still convinced that most young people build Civics primarily because the insurance is cheap, and the cars are not expensive. When the insurance estimate came in for a Corvette with an LT1 and it was a wash with the Mazda, sports car shopping kicked into high gear.
7) 2005 Crossfire - The sports car I always wanted. Need I say more? Babied as though it were one of Jay Leno's prized Bugattis.
8) 1993 Escort LX wagon - the "winter beater". Gets a lot of use during the week. Slow, but runs terrific and sips gas. Durable, cheap, and useful. Fun to keep up, and renews my faith in Ford's ability to make durable cars (which was in question after some family members bought Focus sedans and were beset by failures).

Curious, I am a huge fan of the H22. What kinda of numbers you pushing on the lude?

 

I haven't dyno-ed mine, but other cars the same year with the same equipment (JR S/C, DC Sports header, Greddy EVO-2 cat-back, high-flow cat) have pulled about 230 HP with 180 lb/ft of torque. My own "seat of the pants" dyno tells me this is about right because the 'lude (even with 199k miles on the motor) pulls noticeably harder than the Crossfire when I romp on it. Of course, the 'lude doesn't handle as well and isn't quite as comfortable as the Crossfire is.

Here's a Dyno run from a '99 prelude, which has essentially the same engine. The picture's a little blurry but you can see that the stock numbers are 154.9 HP, 132.8 lb/ft, and the final pull shows 234.6 HP, 182.0 lb/ft.
