Also looking for next car...input welcomed
Hello all,
I have been in the market for a sporty car for the last few months and thought I would get a Golf R. At first it seemed to fit the bill as a fun, tossable car with some decent HP/TQ. The more I thought about the R the less inclined I became to pull the trigger. I think I will prefer more of a true sports car instead if a peppy grocery-getter. I have no need for 4 doors or a back seat so the leading contender is the Cayman S. I also like the Audi TT RS even though it has a back seat. I was also considering a BMW 1M but hard to find so a 135i with some modification might do. Basically the HP has to be at least as good as the SRT-6 if not better.
Other cars I have been thinking about: Lotus Evora S, Subaru BRZ (only if they build an STi version), MB A25 AMG (if and when), Nissan Juke R (also if and when).
Not interested in the following: convertibles of any sort, Mustangs, Cameros, or Vettes.
Any suggestions out there? I do plan on keeping the SRT as a daily to modify and have fun with.
Thanks in advance!

I don't know, as I came from the Camaro, Vette crowd. I wouldn't go back there unless I hit a lottery, lol...
I don't like many other 2 seaters out there...maybe a 370Z, and that is just a maybe... the Miata but, again...not the power I would like...
I think, I would do a toy if I were to look for another car...
Toys to me would be something muscle... like the guy putting a Chevy V-8 in his XF... or a Cobra V-8... lots of power, little to no car....lol....

Out of everything you've mentioned - Caymen S, end of story. You're not going to find a better looking, better balanced car out there. No, it's not the fastest thing on the road but if all you care about is horsepower go ask John Force if he has anything for sale. If you want a beautiful looking, beautifully built, fantastic handling sports car for well under $100K, that's the one to go with.
The Evora would be a close second in my book, but I detest the thought of a Toyota engine in my garage.

Like I said, that is the leading contender. I like HP but the car has to handle! And it has to look good. Number one priority is it has to be fun to drive.
Lexus IS "F" is a sedan so it is out of the running. Only interested in 2 door coupes. Keep the suggestions coming! Good stuff.
