Pretty cool.

One of the comments brings up a good question. If the $100,000 ZR-1 can run with $200,000+ cars, what could Chevy do if they built a $200,000 'Vette?

More exotic leather and upholstery. That kind of thing. Kinda like the bugatti veyron, the cows are bred at high altitude so they don't get bit by mosquitoes. Stuff like that drives the price up.

Plus, with a Lambo you are buying the name, it's an exotic, keep it in good condition and value will stay there. Vette's don't hold it like that as far as I know.

The lambo/ferrari type turns a lot more heads than a vette will. Even if it is as fast.

Even if this were an 200k vette, there is something about an exotic like the Lambo and ferraris that draw attention. THe reasons are the interiors, pretty amazing (a friend of mine owned a Gallardo) and well that 12 cyl engine, there is no sound out there like it!, not to mention the fact that only since the latest vette was built did GM finally make a sportscar that could run with the italian supercar luxury of the world. Until then it was just a fast american muscle car.

Now before I get flamed, dont get me wrong I like the vettes but they have yet to get real supercar status until they have the interiors of the Italian leather experts, but they can finally now compete on a better playing field thanks to the ZR-1.

They could add $100,000 worth of interior upgrades, but what if they put that into $100,000 of more performance engineering? I'm not talking about running with cars that are known for their name and exotic appeal like the Murcielago and F430, but cars that are about performance like the 911 GT2/3 etc.
