Default Toyota trucks literally rusting into pieces!

Amazing article and video.

Toyota trucks are having their frames rotting so bad the trucks are rendered unsafe.

Definitely a MUST READ if you own a Tacoma or Tundra!

Yikes! I knew that new liquid salt/brine crap they've been using on the roads up here is aggressive, but damn!

I guess their earlier recall for '95 to 2000 Tacomas might have to expand in scope!

I guess all those Toyota owners forgot what rusty pieces of crap the first toyota pick ups were and they bought them anyway. "It's a great truck, it'll run forever!" Yea, if the motor doesn't fall out on the road!
BUY AMERICAN! (Yea, I know it's made in Germany. But it says Chrysler on the outside)

I don't know for sure, but doesn't Toyota build those trucks in the U.S.A.? Or am I confusing them with Nissan?

Hmmm. Wonder if 4Runners will be affected eventually. My '05 is exhibiting some surface rust on the frame, diffs, etc. My '95 Jeep did the same thing though.

I think you'll be OK on that one.

From what I've heard, the problem stems from improper cleaning of the frame rails after stamping. Apparently the lubricant used in the forming of the frame rails contained some sort of rendered animal fat, the proteins of which attacked the steel. This made it next to impossible for the rustproofing coatings to properly adhere to the metal.

Not too sure if that's the case or not, but that's what's going around the automotive industry circles.

BTW.....Toyota is trying to blame the whole thing on DANA Corporation.

Oh then how many years does Detroit had problems into a run of cars or engines? Or this could be a reason why we should continue buying Toyota in the future.

I almost think I understand the point you're trying to convey.

Funny.....I looked through the link you posted for Toyota parts........I couldn't find frame rails anywhere?
