Unhappy M112 AMG need help with pistons.

Hi i have SLK 32 AMG ( M112 AMG) and i found out i have 3 broken pistons , i own a garage but i have no experience in MB . The pistons inside have code : 9044R0 ( NURAL) and a code below this. The problem is the code below is different between the pistons. i have 12.2 x3 pistons 22.1 x 2 pistons and 23.1 x1 pistons . So i would like to know which one is the correct ? How can i know if its a piston from a non AMG engine or an AMG ? please any advice is welcome.

Athens? Georgia? Where are you?

In any event, most of us would not likely know. Only a rare few have been that far into the internals of the engine.

You might want to get in contact with Rob at NeedsWings.com, he will probably know the answers to your questions.

The pistons probably have a number on them that shows what particular tool made them. Otherwise how would they know where a particular piston with a fault came from? This way they can isolate a tool with a fault. These pistons are forged so it is probably the forging tools number.
That would be my guess.
Another example would be plastic containers for butter etc, these have a cavity number on them as well as the part number so that a faulty mould cavity can be found.
