Re: Dragon slayers arriving home... Roll-call and highlights!!
I looked over the list of people who attended so I wouldn't forget to mention good friends, laughs and the fun we had. There are too many of you I had a blast driving and an even bigger blast shooting the $hit with friends. Then more fun driving and then friends again. I haven't laughed so hard in a long while, Sat. night after the BBQ and then again at the lodge. The drive on the Cherohala Skyway was a treat. We were going to do some Dragon runs, thought about the falls instead, make a quick trip, yea right! Thanks for all the good humor and being such good people. Having another person in the car makes the ride more enjoyable in small ways:
As many of you know I get motion sick and so when we are on any of the fun roads (curvy) I have to drive. My husband, Gary, has been great about this. In an attempt to get him behind the wheel for some fun he drove from the Dam photo shoot back to the lodge using US129. Sure enough I was not doing well, but didn't bring it up since that was the first time he had driven and I really wanted him to enjoy it. I hid behind the sunglasses and acted like I was looking at the views.
After a while he asked "so how are you doing?" I said "oh OK you know, OK, I keep my eyes closed most of the time and around the curves" His response was "what a coincidence so am I".
When I drove I mentioned to Gary that left curves, at a high rate of speed, were more challenging to me. Which is code speak for "holy crap we're turning/curving to the left as I speak and damn if I lost control we'd be killed". He wondered aloud if his life should flash before his eyes on the left curves. From then on I reminded him we were in a left curve.
For someone who really enjoys driving the Dragon I'd like to thank my husband, he never complained in fact he said he enjoyed riding and it was fun.
That's it until next year.........................bummer

Hi all,
Had a great time this year. Can't wait 'til the next gathering. I'm glad you all enjoyed the souvenir decals. Also remember if you have any good photos of your own to be included in the calendar, email them to me.
I'm still waiting for the US 129 Photos to finish off my web page of this trip. I didn't get too camera happy this time, had my mind on other things. Here is what I have so far:
Fall Dragon 2010
'Til next time. James

Re: Dragon slayers arriving home... Roll-call and highlights!!
I have the video from the Dragon! Even if you didn't go on the trip this is as good as being there. I will start on last year's ASAP. I have a long version that is almost 4hrs, and a short version that has been cut down to about 35 minutes. The footage is primarily of the RT 28 cruise to Franklin, back to Deals Gap, and the best of the Dragon from Saturday. The short version has all the time when traffic interfered or the scenery was not that interesting.
If you want a copy of the short version, I will be shipping them for $7 each. The long version will have to go onto 2 DVD's in order to keep the resolution. I will be shipping them for $12 each. Please PM your request, and an address. I will be accepting checks only, no paypal sorry. Once a check is received, I will ship right away.
Just to let you all know that the cost is for shipping and packaging only, I am not selling the data, but there is a copyright on it, so please do not post the data once you receive it.

We saw what appeared to be a larger group of S2000's parked in the field adjacent to the softball field at the lodge, I wonder if they wouldn't allow us to do the same with a bucket taking our pictures. If they do, there is also a hill we can all stand on and look down at the cars and take our own pictures too.
