New Owner in Central Florida
Greetings,
I purchased my first sports car ever, a 2005 Crossfire Ltd Coupe in Sapphire Silver Blue, about a month ago. I was actually interested in getting something "sporty" but not a performance car–something like the old Honda Del Sol. My wife suggested asking her father if he wanted to sell his Crossfire, and now I enjoy driving again!
I'm considering some go-fast and cosmetic mods but nothing extreme. I'm not changing the color but I'd like to take all the silver trim pieces and chrome them, and get some nice chrome wheels in the stock sizes. Ideally I'd like to white-out the tail and side marker lights but nobody seems to be manufacturing those parts.
A canned ECM tune is definately first on the go-fast list and a dyno tune after I've done everything else. The larger throttle body seems like a no-brainer but I don't know about a CAI. It looks like the stock intakes are already well positioned to avoid hot air from the radiator. Beyond that, plans are flexible.
I'm looking forward to getting to know people and hopefully find a local club or meetup. I'm interested in autocross or similar where I can explore the car's capabilities without jeopardizing my insurance premiums.

Re: New Owner in Central Florida
Hello there Frank! Congrats on your new ride. If you need any help with the car, I'm in Winter Park and can usually lend a hand. The chrome parts are available on line, no clue where though. The stock airbox may look like it does a decent job of getting cool air, but the whole lid is the airbox with filters inside. Very restrictive. The single CAI is the way to go for an NA motor, or the dual if you love symmetry (my OCD said I had to). Definitely want the 74mm TB and tune with it. As far as where to test the limits, we have Orlando Speed World for 1/4 mile racing, Sebring for a road course, and a few SCCA events pop up every now and then. And you can meet up with the Florida Crossfire Group. You can find us on Facebook. Hope to meet you soon!
