Hi I love the look of the car, especially with the roof down. Please could someone offer me advice.
When the top is up and locked in things appear fine, but when you start driving the windows click and drop slightly.
What could this be.
Many thanks leemeg99

Well, this is a new one!

1) Does it do it if you drop the top and then put the windows up? If so, it is nothing to do with the top.
2) If only ONE window does it, I'd say you have a window mechanism problem.
3) If BOTH windows do it and ONLY when the top is up, keep reading.....

There is a switch in the frame around the windshield on the passenger side - the right hook from the top locking mechanism presses on the switch when the top is up - as you go to drop the top, when you turn the handle, the hook moves, letting the switch close - this signals the BCM to lower the windows. It sounds to me that this hook or the switch is loose, indicating to the BCM, for just a second, that you are lowing the top. So, for that second, it lowers the windows, then when the arm moves to press on the switch, the BCM stops commanding the windows to lower.

So....
Unlatch the top and verify that the right hook is not loose or insecure in any way. You can reach in there and see if the switch itself has come loose from it's mounting screws as well, - but I must say, in six years with there Crossfire Roadsters - I've never heard of this one.

Could be the micro switch itself with less than optimum contacts too.

hi, i have a 2005 drossfire roadster. the problem i am having is when i turn the ignition to start the engine.
When the ignition is in the on position it appears everything functions properly (all roof functions, window defrost), however when i start the car the roof doesnt operate, only the lamp flashes, when moving the windows start to fall and the rear window defrost doesnt light up.

any ideas, thanks

hi, i have checked the sensors, and all work correctly for continuity. i have checked the battery, 11.2 volts under load.
the problems are when the car is running , not when the ignition is on only. any more ides?

What does 'under load' mean ?
Is that the brief period when the starter is engaged ?
If not, the 11.2v is NOT good.
The battery should measure around 12.5v with switch off, and 14.3v-14.5v when running.
If it's 11.2 with the engine running, then suspect a toasted alternator.

Hi, under load means tested using a battery fault tester which applies a load over a short period to determine how the battery retains power. The figure returned was good, without this load, 12.5v stationery and 14.3 running.

Battery seems fine then.
I will now step aside as our resident electrical expert pizzaguy takes the podium on this.
