New Crossfire Owner
New Crossfire Owner
My name is Joe and I live near Southampton in the UK.
I have always had a soft spot for the Crossfire ever since going in one when I was a teenager in 2005, and last Sunday I bought one. Prior to the Crossfire I had a 2007 S320 CDI which I loved, but didn't need along side my company car (420d xDrive M Sport). My first car before the S320 was an Astra Coupe.
My car is a 2005 manual finished in a silvery/blue colour (not sure on the name?!) with a grey leather interior. The car has covered 52,000 miles. The first owner on the V5 was DaimlerChrysler UK, and then the people who owned it before me.
So far I have fitted it with a more vocal customer Powerflow exhaust system and I have had it professionally valeted. I have ordered an HID kit for the car and some new LED number plate bulb units (units as opposed to bulbs as the current ones have cracks in them). In the coming months I intend to lower the car on some springs as the ride height it too high at the moment, and to polish the headlights.
The car seems to be very sound. The only issue I have is that the washer fluid bottle empties itself behind my front wheel from behind the wheel arch liner. Not sure if there is a known issue with these but I will get the liner off at some point and investigate.
So far I have been surprised by a few things. Mostly how much I have enjoyed the car! Secondly, the sound system is fantastic for a standard system... Although I find it too bass-y so I have wound that back to -3 on the HU.
Any pointers for a newbie would be great, otherwise I should have some photos soon once I have my number plate on the car.

Welcome to the forum, most of what you need to know about fixes to the car can be found here, you just have to search or ask. Searching is a good way to learn about all the aspects of owning the car and keeping it running well.
The WW fluid bottle will overflow after it has taken four litres of fluid. If it is leaking with less than that in it the bottle may have a crack or the pump gasket may be shot.
The color is called Silver Sapphire Blue or SSB for short.
