Default Memorial Weekend In Colorado

We will be home during Memorial Weekend. Is anyone interested in a trip to Bishops Castle on Sunday or Monday or even a cruise to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park and back.

I am also planning a trip to the Super Cruise in Golden on Saturday June 5th if the weather is good. I noticed that

"Stevinson Chevrolet is hosting the Black Top Bash car show before every Super Cruise from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the corner of West Colfax and Indiana. It's free, Van Jeffries will be rocking as usual and awards will be given at 1:30 PM."

Wishing you all a great summer. We have just three weeks of school left and we are off for a couple of months. Horray!

Memorial Day weekend my be tough as we are going to be going on a jet ski trip on Monday and I will be prepping the RV to get ready to go. Saturday *may* work better. As far as the Super Cruise on June 5, we will be out of town on that same jet ski trip... I do want to do the Super Cruise for sure this summer (maybe July?).

We will be doing the same thing in July, leaving on the 1st for Estes Park for a week of camping and hiking. We try and not go on the holidays but then we have two months to go on off weeks when it is not so busy.

August was the biggest month for the cruise so maybe we can hook up that weekend. Summer is a busy time and we all make sacrifices based on the things we love. I actually have to say the Crossfire takes second to traveling and camping but it still is fun when it works.

We will have to see what the weather brings after the holidays.

Have a fun trip!

Take a look a Saturday and see if it works for you when it gets a little closer. Traffic would be to busy on Monday anyway.

Bat and I should be available for a Sat or Sun get together.
Let us know what sounds like the most fun.

Either day works for us. I'm not sure what drive you took with Itsky, Bishops Castle? The police will be out in force that weekend but even a trip to Estes Park for a late lunch and drive along the Big Tompson River with a stop at the DAM Store along the way. lol It really doesn't matter if the weather is good. Let's wait til it gets a little closer and we will see which day is going to have the best weather.

I'm out for the weekend...Crossfire is back in the shop again.

All under warranty but after the all the trouble I had with her initially, this is a terrible way to start the new season.

Well, the clutch was fixed on Bat's Crossfire.

The dealer said that the pressure plate was weak, and caused slippage of the friction plate which then caused hot spots on the flywheel and the pressure plate assembly.

They also said that when they compared the fingers on the pressure plate assembly new to old, the old ones were much weaker, and were visibly lower, which was what was causing the binding feeling in the clutch action.

So here's what a clutch looks like after 9k + miles, and is no longer functioning properly:

I wish I could say that the new clutch assembly was installed, and everything was fine after that, but if you know the history of this car, you know it would never be that simple.

When I picked the car up, on the way home, 3 cylinders shut off, and the car had no power, and had the CEL light up. So back to the dealer it went, and now the dealer has no idea why the car is having a problem. So now we have to wait until Monday for the brain trust at Chrysler to put their heads together and figure out the issue.

They also said that the new flywheel is a new part number, so no telling if that new flywheel is no longer compatible with the Crossfire's electronics and programming.

So we are without the car yet again.

Weeee!

I am so incredibly bummed out - I really have no words (hence letting BC tell the tale).

Well, I have a few words...

Discouragement
Despair
Damned POS possessed f*ing car

Damn it.

I love the car but I am really hating the car.

Well, it appears that the new flywheel, which has a whole new part number in comparison to the original one from the car, is to blame, according to a phone call we received from the dealer.

So now we need to wait for a new flywheel arrives, to see what can be done.

We have the car back.

The new flywheel had a bent tooth on the new flywheel's CPS tone ring.
That tooth then damaged the CPS (crankshaft position sensor).

So, a new Flywheel was ordered, along with a new CPS to go with it.

The car now drives like it should.
Hopefully, for a good long time once again.

Good deal. I'm glad Bat has the car back. We'll have to hook up here soon for a nice mountain drive!
