In the UK you can buy a what the call a personalised plate that you can put on another vehicle for a fee, these personalised plates can be sold to someone else, for example my registration plate is no longer relevant as I no longer have a crossfire, no point in puting it on a ford for example as it was bought for the car to ' personal ' it
