Here's a shot of the last mod to be done on the interior, to finish off the "wood" look I've been working on.

Sorry about the photo's color, using a garage shop light to illuminate the scene. The wheel and dash were matched beautifully, though done years apart.

My 2007's interior still looks "factory fresh".

The only mods I've done: aftermarket stereo & Mercedes-like dead pedal.

How do you guys prevent steering wheel and especially dash from peeling? The rubbery paint seems to be a super weak spot.
...it was bad on my 04 Coupe and I feel like everytime I use as much as a wet rag on my 25,000 miles SRT6 a little color comes off.
What detailing stuff do you use on the interior and is there a good way to touch up little spots with paint? I just ordered factory paint for the interior just wondering if someone went through a touch up job.

I bought mine new in 04 and it’s slept in a garage so it’s like new. That’s a huge factor. Also I treat her nice and am careful. I’m shocked by the way some owners treat their cars. I don’t smoke or eat in mine either.

Ditto on that taking care of the car. Mine does sit outside under an all weather car cover. We don't eat or drink (other than bottled water on road trips) in our Coupe - we are both non-smokers. And we take special care getting into & out of the car - keeps from rubbing the side bolsters on the seats. I also use Lexol leather care products on the seats every 6 months (spring & fall) to keep them from drying out.

My car sits outside in the Florida sun unfortunately. But it's under a car cover when I don't drive it and I park it in the shade as much as possible. I take much better care now with the SRT6 Roadster that I bought with 25,000 miles three months ago. But I'm still scared about the center console peeling. I use a Meguiar's interior detailing spray on the dash and steering wheel and microfiber towels. But I feel like everytime I as much as just run a microfiber over the dark slate grey dash, some of the "rubber paint" comes off and colors the rag black.
I Recently ordered touch up paint to touch up the small areas that have come exposed so far.

My Coupe with 125,000 got pretty bad over the years and the steering wheel got real discolored/peeled off paint from wear and tear. It was all still manageable but I'm basically starting fresh with a showroom looking car and I'd prefer to keep it that way as best as I can.

I use Lexol products on the leather and woolite/water mixture on the Alcantara seats.
I don't know if there are better products for the interior/steering wheel than Meguiar's interior detailer.
I hear some people just use a damp cloth and have good results?
What do you use for detailing the interior pieces including steering wheel and doors?

You can click on his user name "Mayaman" and it will give you the option to send him a private message. As far as I know he is definitely still on this forum.
Also, his thread that talks about his setup and might answer some questions is here:

Definitely an awesome setup and very well done! Hope that helps.

The new radio looks great!
It almost looks like it could have been from the factory.
