Default Center Console Repaint/Replacement

Hey guys!

The long middle part of my center console plus the bigger piece around the shift lever are scratched and I would like to either replace them or repaint them. How much would it be to replace and where can I order it relatively inexpensive?

Any help is appreciated!

Well, they don't make this car anymore. New parts will be expensive. Have you asked your dealer? LKQ.com might have some parts from wrecks, but they'll be rare.

Personally, I'm going to end up painting mine. It's in perfect shape, but I get bored easily and I've never really liked the Silver River look.

the Console bezel around the shifter (Automatic) is $185.00 at the stealership and I found it for about $134 on some Chrylser Part stores on the Web. I had a broken power window switch holder tab and was looking for one also. I have just glued the holder tab back together for now.

White is also not a good contrast to the silver ***** and buttons. But black, piano finish could do the trick? Red, blue, yellow and more hard contrast colours will certainly look good.

Lesson learned, don't let women with long fake nails in my crossfire front seat (that's what the trunk is for)! Damn it! lol

I actually think that white is a good contrast to silver and even better to chrome. Look at the pic in your signature. The white looks great next to the chrome srt badge.

I've been pondering the white paint on the center console myself... White with silver buttons, would definitely be "unique"... But an expensive experiment.

Steve hates the idea.

Or so he says -- this is the same man that, weeks later, is having his calipers powder-coated white

I saw that Steve was powdercoating them white, and thought.... hmmmmm...... LOL I bet it will look good though. And, I think a white console would look awesome in your ride John. You could even add in a tiny bit of metalic to the white for some extra punch.

Noted.

I still think it would pop... maybe do like you did on the grab handles, and leave a strip of silver and paint one side... just for that "pop"

Combined with the silver buttons, and some other undisclosed white mods in the cabin area I have planned, I think it just might work. My only concern is it would be busy... right now I have three colors in the interior (cedar, slate, silver)... four might be overload.

Here is a shot of my console paiinted to match the Aero Blue exterior.... excuse the missing button, it is back in.... I had this done well over 2 years ago and it still looks perfect... I think it is MUCH more durable than the stock silver.....
