Re: Interior Dash Trim Kits
Yea I was asking about this earlier but couldn't find anything. I want to get a Brushed Aluminum kit from Car Id but I don't like how it shows the edges of the the origional console. But to those who have a kit, I have a question. Is the material thick, meaning when you put it on, is it protruding off the console or is it thin and closely sticks to the console? Hope that made sense haha.

it's pretty close to the console-not thick much at all. My pic's are attached. This is the rosewood dash kit. I just happen to like the wood look, and it makes me comfortable when I sit in the cockpit. Just warms it up a bit in my opinion. OOPS, somehow the pics aren't there, or here. I cannot figure out how to attach. My pics from my computer just aren't uploading. hmmm

If you don't want the silver edges showing, you can find someone who offers Hydrographics overlay. Your parts are coated and finished. The end result is amazing. My guy does it for 60 cents per square inch. I have had it on mine for almost 3 years and it still looks new. So durable, I have it on my windshield surround and engine airbpx covers. The process wraps the material around the edges and looks very factory. My guy has exclusive contracts with Lexus and Cadillac. They are not stick on and won't fall off due to excessive heat. Very helpful in sunny, hot SoCal.

You can send to me or find someone local. Check their work and experience. The process is called Hydrographics. The pattern is on a film. the part is prepped using the base coat color you want. then sanded smooth, the pattern is cut to fit and floated on a water tank using a chemical accelerant. The parts are then dipped carefully which allows the material to coat around the edges and fill the little gaps. That is allowes to dry. Then some light wet sanding followed by 2-3 coats of clearcoat then a final wet sand and polish.

Re: Interior Dash Trim Kits
When I finish doing my performance mods, I would like to do the Hydrographics overlay. I really like the looks of that better than the stick ons. My SRT is not my daily driver so sending out the pieces is not as much of an issue as it might be for others.
Ohhhh.... and SRT SIX, I seem to never tire of seeing pics of your new interior.

Center stack plus console runs $325-$350. Brushed aluminum can be done. Are you thinking of the machined look (circular swirls)?

Hey SRT, I'm looking for the brushed aluminum look with the lines in in. Not swirls, just lines, kinda looks like metal wood i guess haha. Not bad, now I gotta just find a place. And I'm saving up for a Double DIN setup so I have to wait to do that first.
