Yeah, my career was pretty much a vacation as many military members go. There is not much call for my career field in combat areas and most of what we do would be considered "cushy". I did indeed luck into a fantastic career field and consider myself fortunate to have worked with some of the smartest people this country has to offer for 22 years.
After retirement, I returned to the same organization as a contractor, working with the same data I spent most of my career working with. Even after all these years, I am still honoured to be able to work beside fantastic people both in this organization, AF wide, and the military in general.

In 1955 - Rode out a couple of hurricanes anchored in Chesapeake Bay.
In 1956 was in Northern Ireland to support the British invasion of the Suez Canal; got first hand look at the IRA in Ireland.
In 1957 - was in Cuba when Castro was raising hell in the mountains.
