Default Anybody in Boston or New York?

Need some information guys. My wife and I are having a bit of a nightmare at the moment. Was due to fly into New York JFK, landing at 13:00 on Wednesday but due to heavy snow, British Airways have cancelled our flight.

I have been offered and accepted a flight to Boston instead arriving in Boston at 21:45. I have booked a Holiday Inn hotel in Boston Wednesday night and two Greyhound tickets from Boston to New York on Thursday morning.

My question to you guys is, How bad is the snow falling at the moment? And, if the snow is bad, will the Greyhound still run, i.e. are the Freeways likely to be cleared of heavy snow?

This is turning out to be a bit of an adventure that we were'nt expecting. Its my wifes 30th Birthday on Saturday so will make every effort to get to New York for Saturday. At the moment, British Airways is telling me that the flight to Boston is under threat due to the snow.

I'm not a happy bunny at the moment and my wife is distraught so any information given will be greatly received.

It's not snowing at the moment in NY but is to start around mid-night and snow through tomorrow with accumulation of 9" to 18". I don't think it's going that far north as Boston. As far as the main roads I don't think you shouldn't have a problem, They do a great job on the highways. I'm sure it will turn out OK, enjoy your stay.

Your flight to boston is for 9:45PM but it's suppose to snow till after midnight in Boston so that's a tough one to answer. They do a pretty good job keeping the highways clear. Wish I could be more help.

It is not snowing as yet but they have closed NY schools for tomorrow. You will have some delays but this part of the country handles snow fast. Usually after a big snow storm like whats coming is usually cleared up for travel fast. If it snows tonight and heavy tomorrow you will probably get on with your trip by Thursday afternoon and in NY by Friday. GOOD LUCK!

It's snowing now, and it's coming down fast but not sticking to the roads yet.

Hopefully it avoids Boston. I'm hoping the next time I view this thread I'm on terra firma in Boston.

We made it to New York on Thursday 11th, one day later than planned. I had booked an internal flight with American Airlines from Boston to New York on the Thursday morning but that too got cancelled due to snow at JFK.

Greyhound made it to New York no problems and ahead of schedule. The Highways were all perfectly clear, they did a very good job of clearing the snow. We had to circle Boston for 20 minutes whilst the runway was being cleared before we landed.

Had a fantastic time in New York, albeit, it was bloody freezing. Saw two Broadway shows, Billy Elliot and Chicago, and did all the usual tourist attractions. Central Park was beautiful whilst snow covered.

Spent a fortune, but worth every penny, haven't been to bed in 24 hours & back to work as normal tomorrow.

Thanks to all those that provided information in this thread.
