John Mahoney, who as the cranky, blue-collar dad in “Frasier” played counterpoint to pompous sons Frasier and Niles, has died. Mahoney was 77.

Pat Torpey, drummer and founding member of rock band Mr. Big, passed away Wednesday (Feb. 7) due to complications of Parkinson’s disease. He was 64 years old.

Chris Chatterway was one of the pacemakers and also a renowned runner, headlines in the paper after one famous race with John Landy I believe said “ Chatterway? He went Thatterway”.
This was in the day of the true amateur, a different era.

It is a sad loss for our world.
Hawkin's vision drove physics to new levels of understanding.
That said, I have to wonder if his most recent publications, which challenged many of the conventions he proposed, weren't parting shots to stimulate controversy.
After all, he was well known for his devilish sense of humor.
