Apparently the "Painter-of-Light" also had a dark side..

Painter Of Light | Dark Portrait of a `Painter of Light' - Los Angeles Times

In any case - at least be a professional artist and straighten your work in the frame before you pose with it??

Something often forgotten about **** Clark was his ground breaking introduction of Black performers when he took over American Band Stand.
It was a bold and brave move for an upstart,,,, in the Nashville music scene,,,, who got his shot at the bigtime because the original host was arrested for DWI.

Clark had as much to do with breaking down the racial barriers as Rosa Parks. The likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton won't agree because,,,he was a white man.

And a good one to boot.

Every black , hell every non white, performer in the entertainment industry should offer him their thanks, honor and bless **** Clark's life bravery, honesty and integrity.

That more than all the awards and fame, is his true legacy.

I just saw this post. In Baltimore back in those days we a dance show. It was called the Buddy Dean show. It just like America Band Stand. At the time of intergation it was a big deal. The girls said if their dads saw them dancing on tv with black guys their fathers would go nuts. The movies Hairspray were about the Buddy Dean show. Rather than start riots they simply ended the show.

Damn, I wish I still had my '84 Omni GLH, my first "new" car. The story on that car goes something like this: Chrysler wanted an answer to the VW GTI but it had to meet certain performance criteria, specifically be 10% faster in every regard than the GTI and sell for $1000 less. Lee Iaccoca called his ol' buddy Carroll and asked him to help transform the lowly Omni into America's first hot hatch. When Shelby was done he'd create a hell of a little pocket rocket (perhaps lacking in the GTI's refinement, but still) and the Marketing boys were all set to call it the Dodge ES 200 (Euro Sedan 200 to go along with the Dodge ES 600, etc) but Shelby would have none of it. He said "we're gonna call it the GLH, and that's that". The marketing boys asked what, if anything, GLH stood for. When Shelby told them "Goes Like Hell" they said it would offend the Southern Baptists. Shelby figured none of them would be buying a car like this so it didn't matter, and no car he was involved in was going to have a prissy little name like ES 200. Shelby won, of course. And that little car was an absolute blast to drive!!
