2008 Crossfire Calendar?
Re: 2008 Crossfire Calendar?
Also, I'm currently uploading images to CafePress to make a test calendar. I wanna try it out.
So far CafePress sounds like an excellent solution. It will save a ton of time and effort getting things printed and dealing with shipping and all that. So I'm going to try it out while everyone sends in more pics and votes.

OK, I made a quick test calendar. You guys can go check it out, which will give an idea of what we'd be getting if we use CafePress. Let me know what you think.

Actually, you can buy one right now if you really want to. But I recommend that folks wait until after the voting, and the real calendar is assembled. I didn't bother fixing some margins and bleed issues on the test calendar.

How does it compare in quality to the printing company you were originally thinking of using ??

Re: 2008 Crossfire Calendar?
I've bought shirts, mugs, stickers, large prints, a set of postcards, a few hats, several buttons, two magnets, infant creepers, a sweatshirt and a golf shirt over the past 6 years from CafePress.
The printing on all of the items has been of great quality. Given good enough source images, the images on paper items (and the mugs) is of photographic print quality. The printing on clothing is a little bit rougher due to the courseness of the fabrics, but it is durable and lasts through dozens (if not hundreds) of washings.
The only item from CafePress that I've not been happy with is a golf shirt. The printing was great, but the material of the shirt was pretty scratchy & didn't soften up after repeated washings.

SilverFox,
Be sure you are actually buying the copyright to the picture and not just one copy of the picture.
Tom2112 would be putting himself at risk of a copyright lawsuit if he used the image authored by someone else to make a commercial product without having a proper release to use the photo from the photographer.

D_N,
I know killboy or David, would give us permission as long as it's for the Forum Members only & no Profit Motive, & I would be sure to ask.
Thank you for the words of caution, they are very well founded.
