Hi Guys; Need some more help. I have been thru a lot of the Service Manual and the threads and cannot find how to remove and replace the license plate lite fixtures. I want to replace the originals with LED fixtures. They look like they should pop out but I cant get them to budge. Don't want to scratch the paint. Thanks.

 

Johnny, I just watched someone do this yesterday. The originals simply "pull" straight out. I think there are some tabs on each side that may have to be pushed in to allow it to fully come out but there are no fasteners or screws to remove.

 

Pushing against a spring catch releases the undercut in the license plate light body. There is a spring catch at each, using a credit card and depressing a spring catch helps.
The spring catches are identical at each end, the photo attached only shows the spring catch clearly at one end. I think the light body can also be released just by sliding the body all the way to the left or right.
The lens is not shown in the photo.

 

Thanks Guys. I used a corner of a credit card to slide in from the side and release the clips. Once the clip is released they pop right out.
