So here is an update:

1. We have got the life size drawings / measurements from King Waldig
2. Walter in CA w SRT-6 is on standby to go over to ViS
3. Fred have been contacted and he have given me the following information:

Timeframe, ETC, schedule will be given to us week 2 in January 2014.
They are closed between 20 dec to 6 jan.
They are keen on getting this job done and everything is looking good and going according to plan.

So what do we do until week 2 in Jan?
Make a list of all questions that we want to be answered
Any design tweaks we want to be done
try to get more ppl interested and join the list, the more we get the cheaper the hoods.

Really looking forward to this hood!

Have there been any provisions made for mesh in the openings?

Looking forward to this project for aesthetic reasons alone... let alone the ventilation benefits.

My 61mm pulley makes some HEAT!

 

Provisions meaning? They have some black mesh they use. Check other hoods from vis to see structure. Looks great.

I'll admit I'm a doubtful candidate and a bit of a pain, but is there any possibility to see the final drawings in a nice sharp photo, or better, a pdf?

I think I have made many pics to illustrate the possible outcome. ViS designers will also put in some effort/hints/tips to the design. Waldig clearance with firepower design. Look oem but with some sexy vents. Simple.

 

I am sure the ViS will throw out some illustrations once they get involved....

I haven't read every post in this thread, so I'll post up this question knowing I'll probably get flamed.
Anyway, has the idea been discussed of just recreating the hood from the last group buy? Personally I thought it was a great looking design and well executed. Here are a few photos and below is a link to more.

Well just read the first post and you should have known what design we all havve decided to go for.
That design is Michaels and it looks awesome. However I want to do something new.

 

"New" doesn't necessarily mean better-looking, but I understand and good luck.

 

I'd bet once they have a base design.. Modifications are only limited by your imagination.. and wallet..

 

Typically with these types of hoods, they are done in molds, and I would think changing a mold for different one offs would be quite difficult/expensive, maybe I am wrong?

Intertested to hear what VIS has to say, might have to get a second CF hood to put in the basement for safe keeping, especially at this price
