Mine was the last or second to last sold by Mad Med, not sure which company he used but I believe there were only 10 OEM and 10 vented made.

Is the design on Mrmiata's post #186 the final design? If so, I'm sure that everyone realizes that the panels will twist as they go downward.

It is a great design, but I'm not sure how the twisting will end up looking.

Hood pins, etc.: I never read if the underside of the hoods will have reinforcing in them. If so, and purely guessing, I'd imagine the hood wouldn't do all that much lifting say below 90 mph. I'll just throw out that Dzus fasteners have been used for years on race cars, including Formula One (though not sure if they're still using them). They're very unobtrusive and open with a quarter turn. They have some that by just pushing down they lock, then a quarter turn to unlock.

Drainage: Is that being taken into consideration? I know it was brought up.

Hood's general shape: Is the center spine higher for SRT6's or are all XF hoods the same?

I would imagine you might well prefer to have these special hoods only for SRT6's, but if they're not SRT6 specific, can anyone buy one?

I will add that I'd never heard of the FirePower until it came up on this thread. My 4" long FP model arrived yesterday and the relative simplicity of the side panels curving downward while remaining parallel, is quite elegant. But then, I'm a big believer in 'less is more'.

XF's only have 1 hood whether SRT or not. I don't see any reason this hood wouldn't work for you as well. I can't answer the drip tray question, but I am confident it will have one. All hoods flex at high speed, so, I would think hood pins of some type would help. I am sure FUBU will get back to you.

The design is in the 1# post. It will be waldig + firepower with a hint of the ViS expertise. Twist or no twist of the slant we shall see. We also want to have a maximum function of heat release. if we twist the sides of the wents will be smaller.

Hood will be stock looking from underside aswell so somewhat reinforced, We will discuss this problem with the ViS guys. They will always advise to use hoodpins due to safety issues.

FUBU. I'd love to tell you I am in, but the Doc said I have to have another month of physical therapy on the shoulder. So, that puts me off work for 4 months total. I need to get back and recoup some $$$$$$$ for awhile. If things change or if the actual purchase begins in Feb or March, I could jump back in. I just can't commit right now. I think you will get your quota though. I am liking the design. I liked mad max's hood, although I know the real designer of that hood as well. I think both of my cars would look good with the black hood. Good luck...hopefully a few more will commit.
