My First Big Mod...
Re: My First Big Mod...
I didnt take any pictures, there are already some good workup on here. I used the CCFL lights off of ebay. They are really bright at night and the 125 mm fit the outside rings very well.
My future plans are for the taillights. I am going to run LED strips under the red lenses, across the bottom, up the side and across the top until it meets the turn signal.

This is my first installation of LEDs under the lower edge of the tailights - I'm going to change them out with a different kind of LED because these didn't line up as straight as I would like. I am also going to have a strip along the outer edge that will flash and then stay on when I apply the brakes --- call me crazy, but I like lights
You're a braver man than I am. I've had my "halo" lights (aka. angel eyes) for a few months still sitting in the box. I'm kinda skeered to cut open my high-dollar headlights

Re: My First Big Mod...
No when you look at your headlights were the lens and the back half meet, there is a channel were the lens slides into the back of the light. Cut off the top 1/2 of the channel, it curves up and over the top of the lens. When you have that all trimmed off you can slide your hobby knife blade between the lens and the bottom 1/2 of the channel to cut the black silicone sealant . Then pop the lens off, but be careful. After you get the lens off you will see the bottom 1/2 of the channel that you can reglue and slide the lens back over, after you clean it up.I used more black silicone sealant from Autozone. I hope the picture that I borrowed will show you what needs to be trimmed off. I wish I would have taken pictures now....lesson learned.
