Re: Installed Super Bright LED Daytime Running Lights
Just replaced my driving lamps with these:
5K WHITE 4 LED 2W HIGH POWER BULBS 194 168 158 | 1 PAIR
These have the canbus circuit integrated, so no light out errors!
Extremely bright!

Re: Installed Super Bright LED Daytime Running Lights
This might be way off in terms of accuracy, but I had an OPP (Ontario) officer tell me once that vehicles in Ontario are not permited to have more than operable white lights facing forward. It got me to wondering - if that were true, then how does one explain the LED strings on factory vehicles? Doesn't add up.
He stopped me when I had a myriad of driving lights on my truck many years ago. Not all were in operation at the time, but he mentioned it to me in a parking lot as I was walking away after parking.
I've always remembered that but never heard anyone ever mention anything like it.
Has anyone ever heard of this?

DTRL's should be a minimum of 7,000 candelas, the lower power to the headlights is to save gas in Europe, likewise LED use.
Personally I would have given you a ticket. Who said you were not too bright?

Re: Installed Super Bright LED Daytime Running Lights
I just did the LED thing too. i used these and they really make the car look nice. They are canbus so you don't have to worry about that "light out" indicator glowing after the install.

Hey, Steve, how long is it before a new SRT-6 owner will stop waving to their friends by just holding up their arm and rotating their wrist?
Dave, did you wind up changing out your bulbs on the SRT-6? I recall that you were contemplating it on your N/A coupe but I wasn't sure if you actually completed it. I recall that you had some pretty solid thinking on what was the best bang for the buck solution. Has anything new on the market caught your eye?

The only plans for it are the paddles. I have taken out the CAI as well, I may put it back sometime though.

Re: Installed Super Bright LED Daytime Running Lights
Received the running lights today. Going to put them in when we get back from dinner.
Passed a new Mercedes on the way from school this afternoon. I noticed an LED strip, similar to an Audi, but it was lower on the bumper.
Anyone attempted to recreate this look on our Crossfires in a similar location?

Thanks to Syfi for posting the pictures in his earlier post and helping me decide to replace my "eyelid" lights.
Here are OEMs vs LED.
And with both LEDs in.
These also have the canbus circuit so I get no errors on the dashboard.
Here is a closeup with the LEDs and dual 6000k HIDs. Any recommendations on how to polish out the headlights? I did about six months ago with a Turtle Wax kit and now they're back.

Re: Installed Super Bright LED Daytime Running Lights
Lookin good Smokey...
As for the headlight lens, I had twice the dullness as yours and thought about going the DIY route with the 3M or Mcguires kit, but saw too many reviews where it didn't last long at all. I called a bud who runs a custom vette body shop who said he would guarantee his work would last, since he would re-clear coat the lens. Had them done 18 months ago and they still look perfect. Well worth the 60 clams I paid!

Sorry I didn't even see this thread till now - guess I should check my messages more often when the car was in storage I didn't sign in too much.
here is where there is a detail fo where you can hook into an existing fuse if you wnat teh LED's to be DRL's easily.
https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...-wanted-2.html
My next LED Mod attempt will be to try and get these inexpensive mirror arrow indicators in and working.

Steve, I had read this post before starting the project but the SRT6 fuse panel must differ from the NA as fuse location #31 was not even wired from the main bus and therefore did not have any ability to accept a stake terminal. This is why I connected to the main bus terminal shown in the photos.
I've since gone back and modified the location of the LED strips. Much better now.
