LED project
Re: LED project
I know this will offend but my honest feedback is that the car looks ghetto with the mesh grille and Walmart Xmas tree lights. But, I hate the LED's in a plastic tube design even on Audis where it's an integral part of the designer's overall product. LED's are a great choice for efficiency. In this form, they just look like a Pep Boys special applied by a ricer. Even on an Audi.

The Definition of Ricer
A Muffler with a diameter that of a Folgers can producing 150db of loudness.
A rear spoiler higher and wider than the hight and width of the vehicle for much needed down-force.
Stock Rims painted black with Dupli Color and lowering coil springs.
A 5" Stock Car Tachometer along with pillar gauges.
Plastic Seats with 5 Point racing harness.
Modifying a 1.5L engine trying to produce 300+HP.
A 7" motorized LCD head unit with more bass than treble
Oh don't forget the primmered body kit with neon under-glow
Not even close to being a ricer!

Re: LED project
I do love the AngelEyes/halos, and LED lighting on new cars. Some people have done mods that have come out extremely nice, but this one did not quite make it.
It looks more like some leftover Christmas rope lights were loosely strung along the grill opening. I do applaud your efforts, as we only learn what works by somebody trying it. If it works for you then that is all that really matters.
Oh, I saw a new Chrysler 200 last night, and I really light the headlights on them.

Re: LED project
Be kind, the car looks good guys...... and isn't any where near a "ricer" mod. However, while it's a well intended mod, I too don't like the look of the strips. It looks too aftermarket / patched on for my taste. I like the intention of the mod though because I do like the new Audi lights and many others that are moving to similar adaptations for the lights, and it I were to consider it on mine, I'd want it to be more subtle and really integrated into the existing lamps. I've thought about it for daylight running light scheme but I'm not there yet. Frankly, I like the set up / look of our front ends and headlight units stock.
