Check Out Her Rear...
Check Out Her Rear...*Updated Pics*
Just got her back from the shop today. Had the whole front repainted and decided to do the rear bumper as well. Went with flat black emblems on both the front and back. Repainted both my upper and lower grilles flat black. Rear Diffusers were painted flat black along with the tow hook to blend it. Also tinted the tails as well.
Just got my new flat black TSW wheels today put on today as well. America's tire messed up my other set I had.
Taking her back in next week to get the license plate area flat black and possibly the roof. More pics to come.......
*Just had the flat black done today in the license plate area.....came out nice. Thinking of doing the roof. Hmmm....*

Thanks guys for the compliments. I'll get some pics of the whole car up next week. Its been raining here the last few days in Cali.
Jonny, i had my buddy do it he owns a tint shop, but he is on his last roll of film and will be done with it because of CA laws.
Mix, I'm waiting on my dual CAI from Needswings which I'll have powdercoated black.

That's why when you close the doors of the Crossie you hear that nice, solid emanation of quality. Most feel they also did an excellent job with the grillwork design.

Softball - looks great, I love what you are doing with it. I am about to paint some additional parts on mine, should be similar.
He was pimping you, Kane. It is Karmann, for those of us in the know....
And you are incorrect, most here do not care for the sebring front end.

A wee shame either way.

I hear painting is the way to go if you want the light to shine through. Black to clear in a 2:6 ratio. I'm gonna try it, and i'll be sure to report back.
I just noticed the flat black in the license plate area, looks GREAT. If my car wasn't already the color of awesome I would paint it too!

Eric

I would be careful with that ratio, once the paint is on, its lots harder to sand off and refinish. We went with ~10% and just continued to do layers until we had the desired hue, I think it was 5-7 total and it looks amazing....
I just did my side markers with some of that VHT Nite Shades spray tint and finished with some Krylon clear gloss... I need to sand them with the 2000 grit sandpaper I bought and then apply some meguiars ultimate compound. If it came out good, i'm going to be doing the tails.
P.S. SoftballJunnkie, are you going to get your side markers tinted? I think it would look even more awesome if you tinted the rear ones, and replaced the fronts with the european style clears! (Just my personal preference of course, )

Re: Check Out Her Rear...
A friend runs a body shop, so I have access to it whenever I need (and professional advise since I do not do this everyday)
We wet sanded mine something like 5-6 times to reeally make them like glass, then started spraying the tinted clear. You are correct, 1 part black to 10 parts clear, not a very dark mixture at all, but I did not want mine to be black, I wanted them to be close to graphite grey. While I have seen many people get great results with the nightshades, I prefer professional paint anyday.
IMO they just disappear (but the lights are still bright through them)
