Unhappy Rocker Panel Removal

On a trip this weekend with my wife I managed to turn into a curb scratching the passenger side rocker panel. I'm trying to remove it following the service manual instructions, however, with all of the screws and lift pads removed the top section is not coming loose from the car. I don't want to force it and risk further damage. I'm looking for advice on how to remove it. Thanks.

Havnt done it but seems like you need to pull it straight up as there are clips that hold it in. Assume you seen this thread but if not it may help.

I got it off. Once you get one clip loose you have more leverage to pull the others loose. Thank you for the link.
