Default rear chrome lettering

I noticed today that my " CROSSFIRE" chrome lettering on the rear deck lid is coming off. Looks like the adhesive is deteriorating. Does anyone have a location or source for new adhesive or do you have to buy new lettering. Do you know where that might be purchased other than dealer?

plus alcohol and a razor. you can use fishing line or dental floss to pull the lettering away from the surface. Just work it back and forth and it will slde/slice right through the old tape

Go to an automotive paint supply store. 3M makes a double sided "tape" that is pretty much just the adhesive. You peel the backing off one side, stick your letters onto it, trrim, peel the backing off the other side and stick the letters onto the car.

Get some adhesion promoter (3M06396) - it will change your life. Do a good job of cleaning the back of the letters and the surface of the car, apply adhesion promoter, and those puppies are not likely coming off any time soon.

Thanks for the info, I was thinking of the double sided tape too. I guess they make it thin too, so it doesn't stick up from the paint too far.

Dave, I think having them stick up just a bit makes it easier to wax around and wipe down...but, after taking them off the black car, I decided to leave them off...the blue car still has them, but that may change once summer is here...

oledoc2u,
Thanks for the comment, probably is good to have them up off the paint, so car can be polished easier. I think I will experiment with cutting the mounting of the double face tape just to see how hard it is to cut out etc. I already have some and a good exacto knife.

To all,
Got some different double face tape, cut it with xacto knife, looks great. Done deal.

It is a long story but I looked at the back of my 2005 SRT6 and the "C" was gone! The dealer will sell me the whole set for about $95 dollars. Do you or anyone know where I can get just the "C"?? Thanks!
