I found a body kit, side skirt and bumper!
Re: I found a body kit, side skirt and bumper!
This picture does show well. The skirts design seems to mirror the "X" on the door above it.
The front looks as though he shortened the height of the bumper face and elongated the opening then put the bottom edge lip on. This picture show a number of "close encounters of the curb kind" and the area to the left of the plate looks like it may be cracked.
Does this car even exist any more? The photo is dated 2/14/2005.

I figured it out... I KNEW I had seen this car on the forum somewhere before, came across it when I was trolling the member galleries one day. It belongs to forum member marcosaxo and he has several pics of it in his galleries.
marcosaxo Gallery - CrossfireForum.org Gallery
And I figured out where the sideskirts are sourced from. CarId has them for sale, the manufacturer is Extreme Dimensions. $247.20 for a set, not too bad.

Definitely not the skirts from ebay. The ebay stuff is left over from the "incident" that cost so many members money and grief. Compare the gallery image to that from ebay. Very different.

Re: I found a body kit, side skirt and bumper!
The black car and owner have nothing to do with Dan and the AMG shirts. As you saw his body kit dates back to 2005. If his english was better and he lived in the US I'm sure he would have helped us with a body kit already. Still I'm trying to find out what shop it was made in and see if they have the molds available to make more.
Re: I found a body kit, side skirt and bumper!
Who said anything about EBay? Or am I missing something? The CarID.com skirts aren't the Dan ones as far as I can tell.
Re: I found a body kit, side skirt and bumper!
Nothing against CARID. The mfg is Duraflex, they are the ones involved in this. The picture shown is Dan's car. BTW Duraflex even uses a picture of my car to sell mesh grilles. I never gave them permission to do this.

Re: I found a body kit, side skirt and bumper!
Good chance they are custom considering the custom front bumper. Likely a modded SLK set.

Custom, you think? Doesn't look like he's been on the forum for over a year or we could just ask him.
Re: I found a body kit, side skirt and bumper!
The funny thing is that there are about six crossfires with body kits now (body work done) and none used the forum or shared with others any info. I think the reason why is that they wanted their car to be unique. On that note I like Mike's car from cardomain.

Re: I found a body kit, side skirt and bumper!
All of these body kits are custom made. The yellow and black Crossfire has a wide body kit which will run you about 10k. Any company that makes body kits will make you a custom set as long as your willing to fork up the dough. Expect to pay about 3-4k for a custom made body kit.

Being a huge fan of the 69-70 MOPARS I loved those crazy colors back in the day, this bumblebee look works for me. Neat car.
