Speedometer dash lights

Default Speedometer dash lights

Has anyone replaced burned out speedometer lights before? I have my dash took apart and i cant get the gauge cluster out with the steering wheel in place and Im looking for tips on how to find this bulb lmaohopefully its not in the cluster itself....I can see all the warning light bulbs not i cant see the center rear part of the cluster so i dont know if the bulbs are there or inside the cluster......

Ahhh HA! e-bay I Love you...looked up speedos on e-bay and found a rear image of the cluster

Download the repair manual and take a look at it.
Everything is explained in detail.

An old trick.....dim your instrument/console lamps from 100% brightness to say around 90% and you'll never have to replace a bulb again.

This was told to me many years ago when complaining of bulbs going out all the time on a family sedan. I dimmed the lamps and never replaced the bulbs for the following 12+ yrs we owned the car....

I usually leave it on around 50%
does wonders against the glare at night
