Default Lighting mod - what do you guys think?

Here are some pics... light strip goes under headlight housing, just above the bumper. Barely visible during the day when the strip is off.

I found this LED light strip with "sideways" emitting on this website:
Audi A5 R8 Style LED Strip Lights | LED Headlights | LED Driving Lights

The strip itself is very flexible, about 3/16 inch thick. The strip is transparent obviously, with black backing. That was one of my primary concerns since I want it to blend in especially during the day. The only thing that I had to be careful was the spacing between the lights since the spacing is a little "off" every 3 LEDs or so since that's how the strip was put together.

For now, I have the strip wired to the side marker... the part I am now sure about is the durability of the strip in taking all the weather elements exposed to it.

You really need to replace both your upper corner bulbs and side marker bulbs with LEDs if you want those to remotely look like they came from the factory.....

I did actually, but I didn't like the light dispersion pattern of the LEDs so I went traditional amber bulbs. Perhaps I should try different style of LEDs...

Thanks...! It took me about an hour, but I took my time placing the strip back and forth until I'm happy with the placement. Easy mod, for sure...

I used a 6 LED bulb on the upper corners that all face forward, it is a nice pattern and looks quite OEM. For the side markers, I used a 5 LED bulb with 4 that emit in all four directions, and a fifth that shines straight out, it is a nice balanced light.....

How did you wire the strip?

you can plug the hot wire into a fuse and ground the other wire. Its just a simple 2 wire set up.

I've had mine for almost a year and they were perfect in 10 below all the way up to 120 degrees. I was a test subject for plasmaglow and they have a lifetime warranty...pm me if you want a set!
