My fog light bulb shattered what do I do?
My fog light bulb shattered what do I do?
Does anyone know how I can fix or change the bulb? Or can anyone point me in the right direction in the forum that has the answers? Im not looking to get crazy with it I just want to replace the bulb or know if thats even possible. Thanks for your help.
Re: My fog light bulb shattered what do I do?
The bulb can be changed easy. Getting all the pieces of the old bulb out of the housing will take a little more time.
Remove the front wheel of the side with the broken bulb to make it much easier. Remove the access door in the front of the fender well. Reach in and turn the bulb socket counterclock wise to remove.
Remove the three bolts holding in the fog light housing to the bumper support. Fish it out of the fender well. You should be able to shake out any pieces now. Reinstall housing and then new bulb.

The only reason to remove the housing is to shake out all the broken bulb pieces, which I would do. Maybe a blowgun might work without removing the housing.
Here is a pic of the 9006 bulb and socket. This one happens to be yellow instead of clear/white.
