Let's herd some cats...
So I've heard one suggestion after another of "what to do" with our bumpers, as far as reproductions are concerned.
Tons of ideas... none have ever materialized. We've heard everything from splitters, to SRT-6 reproductions, to canards, etc...
But it seems no one can all "agree" on a design... at least, enough to warrant enough agreement to get a small run of bumpers generated.
I'm sure some of you have seen the SEMA drift concept a few years ago... and until now, all I've ever seen was the crappy 350x400 photo of the white convertible outdoors beside the Dakota.
Tonight, I found a MUCH better picture:
Clearly, you can see this one is a clean design. Nice aggressive openings suggest "I'm a running machine" without screaming "I'm a DTM wannabe"... The subtle splitters near the bottom will appease the crowd that LOVES the chin splitters, but they're still subtle enough to be an integrated design.
Last but not least, it almost LOOKS factory... Albeit a higher-performance factory bumper.
I think this would be VERY easy to mock up, given how similar it is from the middle up to the headlamps.
The only real "tooling" would be required near the bottom...
Maybe add some pockets for insertion of the OEM turn signals, but otherwise I think it's a gorgeous, mean, and simultaneously classy bumper.
Anyone else love this bumper as much as I do? No, I don't have connections with a carbon fiber magician, nor do I have any sort of experience in custom fabbing.
I'm simply farming for ideas, and trying to present a feasible option for a custom bumper, that offers some give and take for ALL tastes on this board... a little of this, a little of that. All in a very integrated package.
Who is with me?

MOAR!
Etc. etc....
It's freaking beautiful, and if it were available, I would sell a small child, (not my own) to have it.
This + med's CF hood + diffusers = O-Face.

The side marker lights are always on, however, so we would need to keep those in the design or else we'd throw a bulb-out warning.
So far we're looking at ~80% of the folks LOVING this bumper. I like that. If we can make a good showing in this thread, who know what the next step might be...
The best part, is that this bumper would be an upgrade for ALL Crossfires, not just the Limited models. Universal happiness = better chance of selling... better chance of selling = better chance of production.
So, vote away guys!!!! We need to breathe life into this. Especially since the factory parts are becoming more and more endangered with each passing week... We need options. And with 80% loving this one so far, it's looking like a winner.
Proud of y'all

In a way, I'm hoping this will go like an election normally does: even if the candidate doesn't have EVERY one of your values in mind, you vote for the one you have the most in common with.
I think this bumper offers a reasonable amount of customization while retaining more of a factory feel than most aftermarket efforts.
The hopes are to eventually link a supplier (I have one in mind) with this thread, to show that there is a majority of voting Crossfire owners that find this design favorable.
When you couple that with the raw FACT that Chrysler simply isn't keeping us stocked with parts, a savvy supplier would see that they would have a cornered market share. Even Crossfire owners that AREN'T huge into the modification scene would most likely "cry uncle", once the body shop announces the five month waiting period. And if the design is subtle, yet sporty, then it would stand to reason that it would sell well.
As it is, everyone has an "idea" but we can't even get reproductions of factory units.... So we have to get something going. It might as well be drop-dead sexy...

Re: Let's herd some cats...
Reviving this thread...
I spoke to a gentleman with RK Sport roughly one month ago. RK sport makes some super clean body kits for cars, many of which are out of production. For example, they have Solstice and Sky kits that are much more aggressive than the factory options. If those "dead cars" can have som aftermarket support, why not us?
Here is a link to their product page:
RKSport - The Performance Styling Specialists
I mentioned to him that we Crossfire owners are sorely in need of bumper support. A design such as the one posted in the first post is wild enough for the custom crowd, but still classy enough for the factory fans.
Our situation with factory replacement parts has only gotten worse, and NO ONE has generated a viable alternative. So, I'm going to forward this thread to the sales staff at RK sport and see if they can get anything going with this.
As with any item for our Crossfires, a pre-order quantity might be needed to get the ball rolling. Having said, based on the very reasonable price point of their kits for other cars, it should be a home-run for us. RK Sport has very reasonable prices and the poll on this thread has indicated that a sweeping majority of the voters in this thread are nuts about this design.
Here's hoping that we see someone from RK posting in this thread before too long.... extra business for them, and extra body panels for us. Let's make this a win, guys.
Be well,
--John

Re: Let's herd some cats...
John if your going to see if that company will make that front bumper im going to start saving money tomorrow after my redsox game. I think it would look better if it had some kind of splitter on it or something like the bottom of the srt bumper. Last edit. Could you imagine some of the new cai designs people would come up with if they had that bumper.
