I used the 3M restoration kit on my headlight, spent 2 hours on it, and it's the same, probably worse if anything, i followed all the instructions to the letter from the 3M site, the outside of the light is very smooth compared to the other light (which I haven't done) but there's still something in the way when the light is switched on...

Do you guys think that this is probably inside?

The pics, i've attached are actually before I did it, but it's moreless the same after... apart from some of the scratches have gone a bit...

It is possible for the inside to be defective, but it is hard to tell by the pics. Are you sure the clear coating has all been sanded off? Again it is not clear, but it looks like the clear is still on the lens.
