Anyone with one of these hoods needs to do some serious checking for cracks. I have developed many hairline cracks in the finish of the FG near the latch on the hood. Since they shake and wobble, that latch is having an incredible amount of force exerted on it, not to mention being constantly pulled up by the wind. I am hoping they are merely in the finish, but still, not good.

I have around 1500 miles with my hood installed, I am sure there are many of you who have quite a bit more mileage, I would take a look.

I ordered hood pins on advice from another member, hopefully they will work as they did for him...

Anyone else care to let us know if you have any cracking?

I used Aerocatch hood pins in mine and never had any cracks in mine when I last looked but I just sold the car so I can't even look. I would highly recommend those pins but be prepared for a lot of drilling and cutting.

I just checked out those aerocatch pins, they look good, but are a little large for my taste. Between the fact that they require a lot of drilling and are completely overkill for a ~15lb hood, I am glad I went with a solution that requires 1 single hole in the hood and virtually disappears into the weave of the CF...

I had similar cracking on the bottom side of my hood at the factory latch, that is why I installed the Quik-latch Mini pins that I did. No more hood wobble, even at 156mph during the 1/2 mile.

Are these hoods available painted for $899 shipped? Hard to make sense of 50 pages of.... should we build it or shouldn't we...

I don't know if 899 is going to work for me, but I'd like to know if these hoods are available.

I'm also interested, searching the internet I can not find true CF hoods for our cars anywhere. It appears I could trade in my stock hood to Seibon but I don't want to do that, and I'm not sure I'd be able to get a hood out of them anyway. Would it be possible for the forum to start another group buy?

It took a year to get 12 people to buy in the first time.

The real question is how hard can it be to sell ten more CF hoods, if you put up the initial ten down payments then ......
Mad Med had a heck of a time the last batch and maybe he's not wanting anymore white hair. Lots of hassle and little thanks I'm sure.

CF hood with vent will surely give that aggressive look. It surely slash some body weight of your car. I was able to buy one from 4wheelonline. And yes its extremely light, but flexible.

OK I called and the guy laughed at me..... we only do trucks man... I didn't feel like arguing too much today but I happened to mention the muscle car add on the top his web page and he said oh yeah........ we do classic muscle cars too.
