I know I'm coming in late on this thread....I have a few ????s

I'm not sure about the vents.......is there a hood that is not a copy of the stock hood, but like the vented hood without the vents?

Also I read something about taking it off to paint......is this just a cover of the original hood somehow????

I know that sounds silly, but I am confused now...lol

It's a direct replacement for the stock hood, only a lot lighter (carbon fiber). It's the only known, produced, aftermarket hood for the Crossfire.

Well personally I love the look after going through some of this thread. I would love to jump on this but right now I just cant, with the turbo coming. Function before fashion. Sometime late this year I hope to get this.

WOW

"is there a hood that is not a copy of the stock hood, but like the vented hood without the vents?"

I'm having trouble solving this question....

There are two designs. One hood is Carbon Fiber with vents, and the other is a Carbon Fiber replica of the stock hood.

I only have the few that were ordered left in storage and that's it.

Thanks,

Med

If any one doubts the hood or Med, the hood is fantastic, looks great and helps the trophies to keep coming at shows [ 30 and counting ] . If you have the chance to get one you should.

I'll try again....seems to me I'm seeing two hoods.....

#One that is smooth with a chevy like hood scoop and two vents.......this one looks better to me than the stock hood with the multiple lines or creases.

This is the hood on

Mad_Med05X's avitar

#Two ?? that would be called stock, in my way off thinking would be a stock hood with the lines.

My original question is "Can I get a smooth hood without the vents?"

I thought I read somewhere in this post that the vents are removable.....

Please forgive me if I seem a bit "RUMMY" I'm heavily medicated due to some injuries and will not be able to have needed surgeries for the next month or so...then about 4 months recovery time....that should workout just right for a 2 day GTG I plan to put together in May.... Anyone interested in a 2 day run in Utah?

Thanks

So I basically have just 2 designs. The one you call smooth and the one with lines "stock".

The vents are basically perminate. If you remove the vents, the hood will have two holes.

FYI:The vent design does not allow water into the engine bay. It's actually a pretty Nice design.

Thanks,

Med

Med;

Sorry this has been a pain for you.

The hoods look great and all the feedback seems positive.

I have sent a PM for invoice.....wish I could afford to buy 3 or 4.....bet the cost of a replacement hood is as much as yours and IMO yours are much better looking!!!!

Med, I saw a pic with one of your hoods but the vent was a solid opening with mesh in the bottom. No cross piece in the vent. Did you make that and if so how much? I've already have the hood from the 1st buy. Love it BTW.
