Vented Carbon Fiber Hood Design Status
Re: Vented Carbon Fiber Hood Design Status
Med,
Just so that everyone is clear on the new terms...
its now a 1/3 down but now only 25 business days for full payment, is that correct?
Either way please put me on the list!
Plus is anyone is the Reno, NV area to get a group ship and pick up?
"""""""""""""(((((((((((1/3 Down TO START PRODUCTION)))))))))))"""""""""""""
I contacted the supplier and worked out a deal
50% deposit needed up front to start production! The remaining balance will need to be provided within 25 business days from the start of manufacturing. Manufacturing will take approximately a max of 40 business days. All hoods will be inspected & test fitted prior to shipment. Each unit will be insured at $1,499 a piece. All shipping claims must be reported at time of pick up or 24 hours after delivery.
I believe this is a really amazing price, not only because this is the 1st Hood produced for the crossfire, but quality time has been put into this effort since October of 2009 and the end result is amazing. Furthermore, even with the design enhancements of the prototype back in April, I believe all in all this is a great purchase. This product offers a different look that will set the crossfire apart from the other Chrysler Counterparts, while enhancing the vehicles appearance and shaving 30.2 lbs of weight out of the car. You can spend anywhere from a couple hundred to over thousand dollars on many of the small parts see on this forum. So, from a 1st hand perspective, I can honestly say this product deserves 5 Stars in relationship to best bang for buck.

The hood latch is a given, nevertheless, I might use hood pins later on if I get the hood painted.
As far as numbers are concerned for the bulk buy, If the Moderator "mightyjlr" ever sign in and open my Bulk Buy Thread inside of the 4sale section, I believe we will be OK!

He has my payment through PayPal; I really don't understand why he has not contacted me in two weeks. Not Kool I really don't want to lose our time slot for production to another vendor manufacturing agreement. It happened to me in July to a known vendor that now provides products to the BMW 1 series community.

I was thinking of painting it too, but leaving the cowling and the vents CF. That way the hood will blend and pop the CF!

Since you did everything properly and there has been no responce. Why dont you just start the group buy in the private ads and then just get it moved over to the groupbuy area after. If you have a deadline to start this thing... well... On with the show!!!!
I know that is against the rules but you did your part, you even waited a few weeks...
EDIT ... I just noticed

Re: Vented Carbon Fiber Hood Design Status
mad mex,
The gap from the hood and the drivers side fender is pretty big. Have you tried loosening up the bolts on the top of the drivers side fender, pushing the fender in on the top and retightening the bolts to get rid of it? I had the same gap on my first crossfire after a dump truck hit it and that fixed it.
