I agree, with what you are saying about the ad, that it is a "Generic" advertisement for Carbon Fiber hoods, and they don't actually build one for the Crossfire.
They do sell hoods for Hondas, I just checked. So I would assume construction of ANY "CF" style hood would be the same for all cars.
What I was commenting on, is what the ad had to say about carbon fiber (CF) construction methods. Which by the way pretty much coinsides with what you (Infinite) posted awhile back about different "CF" construction methods.
There, I hope that clears everything up for everybody.

Had to keep reading it over as I went too fast each time...

Re: Vented Carbon Fiber Hood Design Status
FYI
I might be in Indianapolis Indiana this coming Weekend!
As of right now, I'm looking into the different vent design, and also different mesh... preferably a very tight mesh design over the 1st design. Another issue I'm working deals with the rear hinges. The current design looks just like the OEM hood, where as I was told by a body shop on Saturday that I should have the rear hinge arms slotted in order to allow the height on the hood to be adjustable in the rear for the best fit...
Thanks,
Med

Re: Vented Carbon Fiber Hood Design Status
slotting the rear mounting tabs would be smart, but at this point, modifiying the hood itself isnt very cost effective.
you can make an aluminum plate thats slotted to include with the hood to space it out if need be. Slotting the frame of the hood can lead to structural weakness, especially if a bolt backs of and the hood starts flexing at the mounting points

Having a different mesh will look nice. Honestly, after driving this design for two weeks, I love it. The only reason I'm cleaning her up is because a guy saw my car and asked to put it in a magazine this past Sat... . So, I now have a photo shoot to get her ready for!
As far as the group buy, the plan is to start it once we have a design that everyone who voted will be happy with. The only hold up is the vent mesh, and whether or not the jaguar vent will work or not. Besides that, 20 units are all we need! Even though we see 50+ people listed, that would normally equal 25 or less willing to put 1/3 down. The 1/3 non-refundable deposite will get the bulk buy production order started. Updates soon.
Thanks,
Med

I presume it is going to be a local rag this guy is putting your picture in? Let me know which one so I can try and snag one.

Re: Vented Carbon Fiber Hood Design Status
Med, was thinking about a vented/ slanted/slotted, stainless steel, or black matte finished vent to fit over or in your vents, then some finer mesh material underneath the vents, to stop any debri from getting into the engine area, I think this would give you more of the jag look covers, and you would only have to fab the parts to fit in your present vent design. Just a thought.

Let's keep it simple.
Im looking to get either the jag design or smaller mesh in the current design.... That's it.

Re: Vented Carbon Fiber Hood Design Status
Well thats why I thought a louver type insert would be a nice option, but I do understand, I really like the look of the jag style vents because it covers up the whole, I'm not sure if I really like the open vent look. But interested in seeing as to what you come up with. If I do get this hood, from what I've been reading you can paint this hood as well, because I have the SSB and I don't think the black cf hood will look good on my car that way. Does any one know about how much a good paint job would cost to paint the hood? Its nice to see a good designed hood, great job! ( with giving credit to all who gave their input or help )
