Make sure you don't use the same soap as anyone else. I would hate for them to think you are copying them.

All I want to know is where can I pick it up....I really don't trust truck shipment...since I'm in the trucking industry again...lol....can I pick this hood up in person? And where?.......And I applaud you both...Mopar for his body work majic and Mad for his staying in there until he perfected his mold....two different products that look similar...but, Mad's is lighter and made more for racing....throw it on...or take it off....whatever trips your trigger....location please...

I just came across this ad for CF hoods for the Crossfire.
They build two differnt kinds, but don't recommend the 100% CF hood for street use.
Just thought it might be something to take into consideration when going that route. Personally, I have no experience with CF, so I'm just playing "devils advocate".

I'll pick it up for you and maybe meet you.

I say maybe. Depends on how much I like it.
And don't make me drive in Indiana.
Just made a pick up in Cinci and came back through Indianapolis. Company International does not have a rockinng chair.

Roads are awful for truckers. Doc, How do you stand it?

The 100% CF is not what madmed is having made. Regardless, I'm not sure they actually have a hood at that site. It looks like a generic listing (same for all cars, with just the name automatically changed), and the only item available to "Add to Cart" is a Universal Hood Louvers.

I saw Seibon as the vendor in that link and after reading their warranty in this thread earlier, I wouldn't even consider them for a hood....

I wasn't suggesting anybody should, I was commenting on what they said about 100% CF hoods not being good for street use.
As Billvp pointed out, that's not what MadMed had built.
So It sounds like his is assembled more like the 2nd. hood that was mentioned (in the article), which they did recommend for the street.

I said nothing about their product, other than they said they built 2 different hoods for the Crossfire. I was commenting on what they said about CF hood construction methods. Which I would assume would be the same no matter what kind of car it was built for.

well, it could be they aren't finished but meet the spec requirement for racing...in other words they aren't for looks...probably pin down, and lift off...don't line up and all...many true drag race cars use this type of hood...but, for everyday use, then you would want what Mad med is proposing...hinges and all....and line up well overall...I will get to look at it at CAA...make my decision then...I'm just a picky ole' bas....d...lol

but they dont build hoods for the crossfire...

seibon has 2 versions, your standard run of the mill generic CF hood, and a dry carbon hood, 100% pre-preg, vacuum bagged and auto-claved dry carbon. The hood for the R35 weighs around 12lbs iirc, not for motorsports my ***.

That site is simply a load of *****

OK, I'm going to say this real slow, so everybody can keep up.
I agree, with what you are saying about the ad, that it is a "Generic" advertisement for Carbon Fiber hoods, and they don't actually build one for the Crossfire.
They do sell hoods for Hondas, I just checked. So I would assume construction of ANY "CF" style hood would be the same for all cars.
What I was commenting on, is what the ad had to say about carbon fiber (CF) construction methods. Which by the way pretty much coinsides with what you (Infinite) posted awhile back about different "CF" construction methods.
There, I hope that clears everything up for everybody.
