I am not a carbon fiber guy...again, great job though....

People paint carbon fiber all the time. The Audi R8, Porsche, and Lambo all have painted and unpainted carbonfiber parts. Once again, paint is never an issue.

On another note.. I just got to the graduation. 1 1/2 hour drive in heavy rain. When it cleared up, I picked up a hitch hiker that had the nerve to drive my car at 130mph.... I took pic

After over an hour in heavy rain, with speeds ranging from 30-130 when the weather let up.... the engine bay was still dry. When I opened the hood, a very small amount of water ran out of the back drainage holes. The option to foam the vents shut is open, but I can tell you the design of the hood prevent water from coming in direct contact of the engine. I can also tell everyone this, I could see the heat waves leaving the car at every stop light on the way to the college.

My plan will be to paint the hood and go for the all black classy look instead of the mid night racer.

We will start the bulk buy in about 2 weeks once we work out the terms and conditions with the supplier so that a 1/3 payment up front for each hood will pay to start production. I will take more pictures later

After looking at the photos of your car I am left with these impressions. 1. I will eventually learn to like the vents. 2. The cowl hood with the ridge running down the middle is possibly the best body mod I have ever seen. On any car. It does not look like an add-on, it just looks right. Truly a work of art.

Your hood looks awesome. Great Job! At speeds of 30 to 130,most of the rain will definately pass over the hood vents. Snow also. The problem arises when your parked during showers and greatly worse during thunder storms. I'm sure a add on rain trap could easily be made for your hood. Been there,Done that! Squirrel Crusher

It appears that the left side fits a little more snug to the headlight than the right side, could be fixed by adjusting the rubber hood stops??

The hood came out lookin real nice Mad_Med...I liked the design when Mike (Moparrbust) built his a year and 1/2 ago).
As for any performance increase thanks to the weight savings, all I can say is I had to drive my NA car 15 miles with no hood installed, and I noticed no "seat-of-the-pants" performance increase at all. But any weight savings over the front wheels should defintely improve handling, and the improved cooling should be worth the price of admission alone for any SRT.
One thing I can tell ya for sure. Changing the hood on your car makes it feel like a whole new car, simply because it's right in your line of sight all the time.
Congrats

Love the Hood Max looks great. The cowl came out amazing! The vents throw me off just a tad, they line with the cowl but seem a little off with the outside fenders.

9/10 design and 10/10 fit and finish.

Just contructive critisim btw. I think it looks better than a stock hood for sure...

Having the same hood as a sebring bothers me after sitting next to one at a stoplight. I think they are great cars but just bland and hate shareing any desing similarites!

Was there any wieght difference between this and the stock hood?

How long would it be till a hood would actually be delivered to anyone participating in the group buy? I was in an accident last week and maybe I'll just see if I can take the insurance money towards a new hood and put it towards this but I can't be waiting for months.

I agree with all of the above.

Love the look.
I wonder, can the position of the vents be moved or are they to be in the mold that way?

I would prefer them to be aligned differently and farther back.

And Hell Yes, I'm seriously interested.

Well I think I'm in on this buy but I don't think I will have the money before July so please PM me when you collect the down payments.
2 questions: Will the hodod come with a clear coat? Will the front wing of choice come installed?
