wanted to pick up a set of these...just wanted to confirm first that the lowers DO NOT just cover the old lower grilles but in fact completely replace them???

 

the lowers cover the factory grilles

 

Here are pictures of mine installed. I'm loving the quality on these things! You cannot go wrong with the quality at all. The finish is beautiful as well. This is the polished finish.

Fantastic looking! I hope mine looks as nice and installs easy. Any install problems? How do the ties connect the bottom grills to the factory grills. Ron

 

really look great Dart. Mine rakes out all the way to the front, and I like yours a bit better as I like the inset. Both look good, but I like this one better, just didn't know it existed prior to buying mine.

 

How fiddling did you have to do?

It looks like the bottom rib is bent. Your work or it came that way; it looks good.

 

the bottom rib comes that way it welded to the second from bottom at the end to follow the curve of the bumper cover

Sorry old man but someone wanted to see their red car similar to yours with the normal top grill and the new bottom grills. Worked with yours again as they didn't have a pic. I had to put my factory grill on your car. Hope it doesn't look too bad as only had 10 mins to do it. Old man hope its ok to use yours again. Ron

I had no problems putting it on. Call me crazy but I feel like my car can breathe better.

Instead of bogging down when in a high rpm after letting go of the gas it doesn't bog down as much at all anymore. Goes down in rpm really smoothly.

 

Thats Billet grill I need on my car. LOOKS GREAT!

 

Love the new grill. Does anyone have pictures they can post of this grill in a flat black finish ? i have an Aero blue limited convert...Anyone have pics of this color combo ?? Thanx DOG ...WOOF

I photo shopped a couple cars with the grills and hopfully they picked the grill pics that looked better. The factory grills don't look as good. Ron

Put it on today.
Bottom attaches to stock lower grills.
Top attaches with 3 screws. Invisible with the new grill and will also be invisible if you decide to reattach the old grill: one for each side and one for the center.

1) Remove the stock lower grills before you attach the new ones. I now know why so many people have lost these grills on the higway-they're in way too loose. I grabbed an outside fin, gave a gentle pull and then slid each one out towards the center of the car. Before I put them back in I test fitted and then put a glob of silicone around the ends and each tab. Oh, I did not put any ties on the horizontal parts of the new grill; I drilled some holes in the old grill to match the outside verticals of the new grill after I attached the inside verticals of the new grill and then attached the ties on the outside new grill vertical pieces and put a little double sided tape on them to prevent chafing and possible squealing. Confusing? It'll make sense when you get the parts

2) I know you know to put tape everywhere there is paint before you even begin to remove the main grill. Then, just remove the top 4 screws and push the bottom out from the inside.

3) I test fitted the new grill and marked the center bottom hole and inserted the screw to keep it in place. I then marked the two side holes and drilled the holes. My screws were accessible from the inside.

4) I also painted bright surfaces flat black so they did not show through the new grill

4) A little tedious, but very straightforward and simple

5) And, it looks even better in person and the car now reflects a quality automobil - no longer looks like a soccer mom's SUV coming at you (smile)

PS: I bought the polished and it was definitely the right choice. But, I did not get it powder coated which I would do if I ordered another one.

 

looks like you are happy with your grilles as aim wish i went with the powder coated also might take the grille out in the future an have it powder coated

What does it do if you powder coat it? Is it still polished if you powder coat it? I looked it up on the internet and it sounds almost like clear coat. Did you use the blue painters tape? I will study your install procedure thanks. Any pics Veloce??? Ron
