Default McCulloch headlight install rubber cap mod?

I installed my McCulloch lows & fogs when I first got my car. But the rain caps that cover the back of the headlamps need the new ballast wires to pass through. I've just forced the caps on, keeping the wires going out the bottom. But the caps come of eventually. Anyone modify their caps? Its too bad our wire harness doesn't have a grommet built in like here My past installs did.

If punch a hole in the cap I want a super tight fit around the wires. Anyone have any solutions/pictures? Thanks! This has been on my To Do list for quite some time...

Thinking maybe I'll make my own grommet but sliced through so it can go over the wires than punch a hole to fit tightly around the grommet..
