Re: Inside Map light ???
Yea, that got me, too. I was embarrassed to ask yet ANOTHER question and eventually figured it out while on a long drive with the top down - got bored and started playing with switches...
Not that I EVER get bored driving this car.... I mean I was tired... inquisitive... curious... somethin other than bored.

Re: Inside Map light ???
I have a 2004, and it has two switches.
The forward button is a slider;
The left position has the interior lights OFF when opening the doors.
The right position (Auto) has the interior lights going ON when opening the doors or the doors are ajar.
There is no middle position.
The rear push button turns the map light ON/OFF.
The interior lights go OFF automatically if a door is left ajar for about 15 minutes.
See page 59 of the 2004 Owners manual. I imagine that all years are identical in operation and use two switches.
