Default low beam bulb spring and caps

Does anyone have a spring for low beam bulbs? I also need a couple of caps for covering the bulbs.

If there is a simple way to get the spring out of the assembly area (can't see it anymore) then I won't need a spring.

I just did the same thing. Have you tried using a mirror to look for the spring, one thing that I tried, (but it didn't work for me) was to slide a refrigerator magnet, (the flat, flexible kind) down in the headlight to try & get the spring clip. Good luck, if you can't get it there was a guy who said he had an extra sping clip.

I didn't think the clip was magnetic, but I may not have a strong enough magnetic tip on the screw driver. Either way, when I took the spring from the high beam to use as my low beam clip, I saw the other one. Now I just have to find something long enough to reach and grab it. This is going to be a challenge that's for sure.

Success, I borrowed a telescoping magnetic pen and managed to fish it out via the high beam opening.

I went this route because when I was borrowing that clip for the low beam so I could drive to work without being hassled by the cops for a burnt out headlight I saw the clip out of finger reach. Plus this opening has more room to see what is going; not much, but enough. Thanks for the magnet idea!

This thing is real handy, it has spring loaded gripping fingers, a magnet and this one has a light. You hope you never need it, but when you do its a life saver.

I think that I have a couple of rubber caps too if needed, I'll check tomorrow because I'm at the Fire Station today.

I have the rubber caps. I need the metal spring that holds the bulb in.

I could use 2 rubber caps- hint, don't let your kid work on your lights unsupervised, even if he has the nimble fingers! Thanks

bought a 2005 roadster. Changed a low beam bulb - clip was missing. I can sympathize as I fought these for years on a volvo.

Anyone know where I can get one? Of course I would pay. Its ridiculous that you have to buy a whole head light assembly.

Anyone know if SLK's used these? Maybe mercedes sells them.

I'll probably scour a few junk yards.

Cheers and merry christmas

Terry
