WalMart automotive section. Really.

I put one on the bumper and people fall for it all day long. What a hoot.

You live in Indiana, like to salt water fish, and want a 4X4 Crossfire? Did you bump your head?

My pickup has five shortwave (Ham Radio) antennas on it.

Gonna settle for three antennas on my Roadster, all mounted in 3/4 inch holes in the trunklid.

I also thought about trying to get a ferrari emblem where the chrysler emblems are.
Don't know if I could get in trouble for that, though.

Actually, all my shortwave radio work is CW (morse code) yea, even when driving. I can copy code in my head.

I wanted to see if ANYONE, after reading my posts here, would believe it.

What's your call? n0ixi here. I want to know how you send code
when you are driving.

And yes, I know some die-hard ham radio operators that wouldn't
hesitate to drill for antenna mounts!

WR8Y (20 wpm Extra, since 1988, licensed since 1974 at age 14)

I use an MFJ Keyer / Paddle combo. I have a small platform made from wood that fastens to the center hump of the Ford Ranger which puts the paddles at wrist level as I rest my arm on the seat. (Right arm, of course).

The radio sits on the dash directly above/behind the steering wheel and I also have a tuner/wattmeter combo (MFJ 971 I THINK it is) mounted to the ceiling along with a 2 position switch which selects one of two toolbox mounted "Hamsticks".

It would actually be HARDER to do this in a full sized truck, as getting the right height/angle for the keyer would be more of a challege.

Got my first car at age 17, 1974 Plymouth Duster. The Crossfire is the ONLY car I'v owned that will NEVER see an antenna hole in it. The Ranger, fully equipped for a trip, has 6 antennas on it not counting the AM/FM one. (Two HF sticks, 1/4 wave 2 meter, 8 foot co-linear two meter, 6 meter 1/4 wave and another 1/4 wave for VHF Public Safety/Weather/Marine/Aviation RX only).

WOW - that is truly impressive. You are prepared for anything.

I have the utmost respect for you guys that can "read" Code. I am a
Tech Plus, and I struggled with it. I even wore headphones while I slept
listening to it (hey - it worked!). I just missed being grandfathered-in
to a General. But at least I can say I'm not "just" a Tech. I think they
made a big mistake getting away from the Code requirements - that is
what may save us when the big one hits. It is a dying talent that won't
be appreciated until it's too late, unfortunately.

That's what happened when my Jeep Wrangler and the Crossfire spent the night out in the driveway together. A little bit of in-breeding (they're both Chrysler-Daimler products) and Voila! We had a terrible time explaining it to the kids...
